Home About
A clear start is the whole point.
Most AI projects don't fail at the technology. They fail because nobody was honest at the beginning about what the business actually needed. That's the gap we exist to close.
01 Who we are
ClearStartAI is an AI solutions company for businesses that need the work to get better, not just the tooling to get newer.
We help companies adopt AI in a way that survives contact with reality: automating the processes that consume the most time, building intelligent systems and agents that complete real tasks, integrating AI into the applications a business already depends on, and turning the data it already collects into decisions it can act on.
We work across the whole path — from the first honest assessment of whether AI is even the right answer, through architecture, engineering and integration, to the tuning period after launch where most of the value actually appears.
We're a young company. We'd rather earn trust by being specific about how we work and straight about what we don't yet know than by quoting numbers we can't show you.
02 Our point of view
We don't add AI to your business. We change what the work looks like.
Buying an AI tool is easy and increasingly cheap. Getting a measurable result out of one is neither, because the value doesn't come from the model — it comes from redesigning the process around it, connecting it properly to the systems that hold the truth, and deciding who's accountable when it's wrong.
That's unglamorous work, and it's most of the job. It's also why we start every engagement by asking what you're trying to change in the business rather than which technology you'd like to use. Sometimes the answer is that you don't need AI at all, and we'd rather tell you that in week one than in month six.
03 How we think about AI
Six positions we hold
These aren't values on a wall. They're the arguments we'll actually make in a room with you, so it's fair that you see them first.
01
The business problem comes first
If we can't describe the problem in terms of time, cost, risk or customer experience, we're not ready to choose a technology for it.
02
"No" is a valid recommendation
Plenty of processes should be simplified, documented or fixed before anyone automates them. Automating a broken process just makes it fail faster.
03
Integration is not phase two
A capable system that can't reach your data or your tools produces nothing. Connection is core scope from the first conversation.
04
AI systems need ordinary engineering
Version control, testing, monitoring, logging, rollback and documentation. Being probabilistic doesn't earn software an exemption from being maintainable.
05
Design for being wrong
Every system we build has a defined answer to "what happens when it gets this wrong?" — confidence thresholds, human review points and a way back.
06
You should be able to leave
We document what we build and hand it over properly. Depending on us because you have no choice isn't a relationship worth having.
04 How we deliver
A small core team, and a delivery network behind it
ClearStartAI runs as a focused core team that stays with your engagement from the first conversation to handover — the same people who assessed the problem are the ones accountable for the system that solves it.
Behind that core we work with a trusted delivery network of specialist engineering and automation partners, which is how a company our size can take on the full span of work described in our capabilities without thinning out the quality.
Whoever contributes to a build, your point of contact, the standards and the accountability stay with us. You're never handed off to a vendor you didn't choose.
05 Leadership
Meet the founder
Founder
Neill Randall
Neill has spent more than thirty years in UK retail, working with some of the country's best-known names — a multi-brand high-street fashion group, a British luxury accessories house and an online-only grocer among them.
That time was spent close to the operational detail: returns, availability, customer data, and the transformation programmes built around them. It is why ClearStartAI starts with the business problem rather than the technology, and why we will tell you when AI is not the answer.
Want the honest read on your AI opportunity?
That's the conversation we're best at. Bring the problem, not the solution — we'll tell you whether there's something worth building.
